Especially suitable for kids under 10, the Riverdale Farm is 7.5 acres of greenland set in the heart of Toronto. This replica of early 20th century Ontario farm life lets kids step inside a world where cell phones, fast food and TV do not exist. Riverdale Farm is in Old Cabbagetown, a beautifully gentrified and historic part of town, well worth visiting afterward.
Riverdale Farm replicates early 20th century Ontario farm life and lets kids step inside a world where cell phones, fast food and TV do not exist. The farm is more than 7 acres of green space in downtown Toronto, complete with cows, horses, sheep, goats, pigs, chickens, and other docile farm animals. Visitors can meander the grounds and watch staff do their chores free of charge.
Particularly charming is the absence of commerce, so prevalent at most family attractions. Some homemade goodies and knick knacks are available for purchase at the historic Simpson House, but not to the detriment of the farm's authenticity.
